I remember this summer I was a Hamilton wedding photographer for Nikki and Tommy. We haven't met before their wedding as they live in another province but we went through all details of how their day should look like via emails and when I arrived to photograph their wedding we had it all figured out.
They decided to have their wedding photography hamilton in a very beautiful Dundrum Castle. It is a romantic ruin with beautiful views. I find this place very inspirational. Make sure if you are looking for a perfect wedding photographer in Hamilton that the person knows the venues and all the interesting spots around it.
Dundrum Castle is a perfect spot for an outdoor ceremony and a wedding photography session in Hamilton afterward. Wonderful views, lots of wildflowers, big trees, oozing history and a wonderful pile of stones! We took an advantage of the garden nearby and with peonies that were in full bloom, we captured amazing pictures.
Nikki and Tommy decided to have their wedding reception in Grand Olympia. I have to say that it is a very lovely venue and the staff is very friendly and professional.
Another couple that I want to introduce to you is fantastic Lynnden and Dustin. Their search for a perfect wedding photographer Hamilton area ended at my home office when we had lots of laughs and planned their special day with all details.
I was waiting impatiently for their wedding day to come as I knew that is was going to be a treat for me as a wedding photographer in Hamilton. They decided to use a farm from my neighborhood for their wedding session with a fantastic rustic backyard. I was more than excited!
It was warm September day but my head was full of ideas and I could have stayed there and shot for countless hours but our guests waited at the Liuna Station.
Let me only mention that the farm had a barn, duck house, horses and gardens and the bridesmaids and my beautiful bride was wearing cowboy shoes. If you are looking for unique locations for your wedding photography in Hamilton, don't be afraid of using not very popular wedding spots and show your personality through your wedding pictures.
Your wedding photographer and you should understand each other so open yourself at the initial consultation and tell your wedding photographer about your interests and if you love a specific area like Hamilton.
One of my favorite locations for a wedding photography in hamilton is Liuna station. I loved how grand the inside and outside of the building looked since I first saw it. It’s a beautiful, historic building and it is just what you might be looking for to fill your dream of a "Vintage Glamour" wedding.
Another wedding that I had a pleasure to photograph this year was Julia's and David's wedding which was held in my neighborhood, Dundas. Dundas is considered as a part of Hamilton and I think that one of its places deserves mentioning as a potential spot for your wedding photography around Hamilton area. It was a rainy September day so decided to take some pictures at Dundas Driving Park. It had a roof that kept my couple dry and I could work around the place and take some beautiful pictures.
On a sunny day, you can think about entry to the trails at Rock Chapel in Hamilton which might be nice and is easily accessible.
With my couple Lindsay and Travis for their wedding photography in Hamilton, we went to Albion Falls.
One of the most beautiful falls in the region. As it is a common attraction for those who live in/around the Hamilton area can be crowded and it is not easily accessible but we found a spot at the Mount Albion Falls with a great view on the fall and were able to capture great pictures.
It is very important that your wedding photographer is flexible and creative. Lindsay and Travis's ceremony was held on the rooftop of Carmen's in Hamilton which was a fantastic and elegant choice.
Hamilton has an amazing number of waterfalls that you can enjoy. I have two - Webster's Falls and Tew's Falls, 5 minutes away from my home and I love taking my couples there for the engagement sessions.
We usually split the session into two parts so we have time to take pictures at both locations and the couple can change outfit meanwhile.
Hope that my thoughts on this helped you a little to choose you perfect wedding photography location in hamilton. There is lots more to discover and write about and please let me know if you have any questions and I will be happy to answer all of them.
Wedding photographer Hamilton: What to expect
Hamilton is definitely one of the best places for taking wedding photos in the Greater Toronto Area. I’ve been taking photos for a few couples in this area and I can freely say that I have become a reliable wedding photographer Hamilton option. I’ve been traveling to this area privately for a few times too. There’s no doubt that this area was blessed with magnificent nature and there are a few manmade things that can serve as perfect spots for shooting wedding photos.
First of all, I would like to mention Ridge Road. This beautiful trail is situated in Stoney Creek community and it provides multiple accesses to visitors. This is a mountain road with a big light-up cross on top. You can also get some beautiful photos if you go to the towering waterfall. So, if you are into pure natural wedding photos in Hamilton, you must take Ridge Road into account.
Another great place that I’ve been working at as a Hamilton wedding photographer is Bayfront Park. This park has some really beautiful trees (different kinds of trees), attractive water area and boats. We can take some excellent photos at the piers and on the trail. For the more adventurous couples, we can take shots on the Waterfront Trail too. This area has a few restaurants and ice cream parlors where couples can take a break on a hot summer day.
I should also mention the Royal Botanical Gardens. Actually, this place is based in Burlington, but there are natural areas that belong to Hamilton too. This is one of the most popular attractions between Toronto and Niagara Falls. This place is known for the many different plants and flowers and I am sure that we can come up with some memorable wedding photos there. On top of that, this photo shooting will be enjoyable and free of stress. All these plants and flowers will make you unwind and relax which is exactly what you need on your wedding day.
If you don’t have time to wander around or you are more into urban photography, it’s a smart move to go to Downtown Hamilton. Another positive thing about this area is that you can find multiple interesting locations. The best wedding photos are taken in front of old, historic buildings and walls covered in graffiti. It all depends on your personal preferences.
You don’t need a permit to enter and take photos in Hess Village and this area is rich in great architecture and many bars. This means that you will get an opportunity to take both indoor and outdoor wedding photos.
Keep in mind that these are only some of the places where you can get excellent wedding photography in Hamilton. With a wedding photographer Hamilton option like me, you can rest assured that you will get the best possible photos.
